Young Players Policy

Last updated: 15/10/26

We love seeing young players at our tables. Our staff are there to run the event, though, and can't look after children at the same time. This policy means every young player has someone responsible for them, and parents know exactly what to expect.

This applies to every event at both Bath TCG and Norton TCG, including weekend Special Events.

THE POLICY IN SHORT

  • Under 13s are welcome at events, but must have a parent, guardian or responsible adult (18+) with them in the shop for the whole event.
  • 13 to 15 year olds can come to events on their own if a parent or guardian has filled in our Parental Consent Form and we have a contact number for them.
  • 16 and over can attend on their own as normal.

PARENTAL CONSENT FORM (13 TO 15)

Download the Parental Consent Form (PDF)

Hand the completed form in at either shop, or email a photo or scan to admin@bathtcg.co.uk or info@nortontcg.co.uk. Each form lasts 12 months and covers both shops. You can also pick one up in store.

HOW IT WORKS ON THE DAY

  • We check ages at sign-in. If we're not sure of a player's age, we'll ask.
  • Under 13s: the accompanying adult signs in with them and stays in the shop until the player leaves. The adult doesn't need a ticket unless they're playing.
  • 13 to 15s: we check we have an in-date consent form. No form means a parent will need to come in, or fill one in on the spot.
  • If a young player turns up without the right arrangement, we'll call their parent and keep them safely inside the shop until they're collected. We won't send anyone outside on their own.
  • Players are collected inside the shop, or leave at the time and in the way set out on their consent form.
  • If an event finishes late, parents should plan pickup for the advertised end time.

OUR STAFF

  • Staff stay in the open, main area of the shop and avoid being alone one-to-one with a young player.
  • We keep consent forms private and only use the details to contact a parent or in an emergency.
  • Any concern about a young person's welfare is passed to the shop manager straight away.

If you have any questions, please pop in or get in touch. We're always happy to chat.
